General Foremen- Resonsibilities, Duties, and Tasks

The FOREMAN ensures that C&E industrial has the CAPABILITY to perform on jobs. This includes:

Job Duties Description: An Industrial Construction Foreman ensures that the crew at a job site is carrying out their tasks well and everything is going according to plan. Checks with the supervisor for morning scheduling, assessing job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate job functions. Makes sure employees have tools and equipment needed for the job in order to ensure a good output. Makes sure company rules and policies are followed by every crew member, jobs are completed in a timely manner. Evaluate the quickest and easiest way to a job without sacrificing quality of the work being done. Holds daily job site safety meetings and detailed record keeping of it on C&E safety forms for future references.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
  • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
  • Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
  • Order or requisition materials or supplies.
  • Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
  • Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
  • Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.

Specific instructions

The Job Holder will act as an Independent Inspector and will refer to Superintendent with regards to any technical and administrative issues. The Job Holder will constantly keep management updated about any quality problem and he will issue an inspection report at least on a weekly basis. Furthermore he will also advise supervisor interface at site regarding any quality deviation found during the surveillance activity.

The FOREMEN supports C&E in financial management and related services for C&E industrial to include: This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position. The hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, though later or earlier hours and weekend work will be required from time to time.

 


Laborer/Helper- Laborer/Attendant

General Summary of Duties: Apply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required):

  • Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors. See more occupations related to this task.
  • Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required. See more occupations related to this task.
  • Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use. See more occupations related to this task.
  • Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage. See more occupations related to this task.
  • Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.

Combo Welder- Combo Welder

General Summary of Duties: Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair all types of piping systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision. Position will report to manager as assigned by Superintendent.

Essential Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required):

  • With regard to that portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of piping systems in accordance with those plans and specifications.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications, including orthographic and isometric drawings. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
  • Follow established jobsite safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain, and take any corrective action needed.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools to fit and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products; cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes; select specified type and size of pipe; mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe; install valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe; and lift, position and secure materials and work pieces during installation.
  • Utilizes all pipe fitting techniques and methods for different types of piping systems and pipe couplings including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints
  • Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Experience – Minimum 3 years’ experience as a welder.

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
